Jabulane Christian Academy follows the guidelines prescribed by the National Curriculum Statement (CAPS) which is in accordance with legislation and Umalusi directives. We aim to not only meet but exceed the Department of Education’s curriculum requirements.

Computer classes and coding and robotics are offered as subjects and technology is further integrated into other subject areas and lessons.

Bible class, Physical Education, Art, Music and Personal & Social Well-being/ Beginning Knowledge are all components of the subject Life Skills.

At JCA, we have a maximum of 25 learners per class ensure that learners can receive personal attention from their teachers during lessons.

Biblical Integration forms the foundation for all subjects and each lesson that is being taught. 

 

Pre-Primary Phase

GR RR – GR R

In the Pre-Primary phase, children learn foundational skills through play-based, interactive activities, focusing on holistic development in areas like Literacy (letters, sounds, early reading), Numeracy (counting, shapes), Life Skills (social skills, emotional regulation, arts, music, movement), and Physical Development (gross/fine motor skills). The goal is to build a strong base for formal schooling by fostering curiosity, social awareness, and key cognitive abilities.

 

Foundation Phase

GR 1 – GR 3

 

The Foundation Phase teaches core subjects like English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, and Mathematics, alongside crucial Life Skills that cover personal well-being, physical education (motor skills), art, music, and social development, all delivered through an integrated, practical approach to build foundational literacy, numeracy, and 21st-century skills. 

 

Intermediate Phase

GR 4 – GR 6

 

In the Intermediate Phase (Grades 4-6 in South Africa), students learn core subjects including English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Life Skills which includes PE, Art, Music and Bible. Coding and Robotics will also be offered in 2026. In this phase there is a greater focus on developing technical and academic skills, independence, and self-discovery.

 

Senior  Phase

GR 7

 

In the Senior Phase students continue with core subjects like English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences (History & Geography), Technology, Life Orientation, and Arts & Culture. Economic Management sciences is added in Gr 7.  This phase is crucial in preparing learners for High school.
